About the artist

Frederic Boudreau was born and raised in Yarmouth, Maine. When his older brother and sisters left for school, he would pass the day drawing animals. In time, he came to enjoy the challenge of drawing portraits. By the first year of high school, he discovered how paints and their colors can provide a vibrancy and richness which brings images to life.

Frederic studied kinesiology and German at the University of Illinois, but he remained committed to art. His early influences were John Singer Sargent and Richard Schmid. His style is mainly realistic. He aspires to capture a likeness  in his works, yet attain a loose, painterly quality.

Today he runs a fitness business and works as an actor. Many of his clients commission him to do portraits or a landscape of a location that has sentimental value, like a honeymoon spot, first date, or first home together. Frederic has had numerous shows in Connecticut. His works sit in the collection of the Watson family.

Now he enjoys capturing scenes from every day life, or integrating multiple art forms by painting street musicians or a dance event. Not wishing to limit himself, so he chooses to paint in a variety of mediums.
